UTSA center honors Frontline as city's top minority-owned technology firm

San Antonio Business Journal - May 10, 2006

Frontline Systems Inc. has been named the San Antonio Minority Technology Firm of the Year by the San Antonio Minority Business Development Center.

The San Antonio Minority Business Development Center is a program under the Institute for Economic Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). It is designed to help minority entrepreneurs start and expand their businesses.

Frontline was selected from a number of qualified businesses based on its growth and the role the company has played in serving the community.

"This is a great honor, particularly because San Antonio is blessed to have many great technology companies," says Bob Sanchez, co-founder and chairman of Frontline.

Tony Cannon, president and CEO, credits Frontline's business partners and its employees as the key players in the company's success.

Sanchez and Cannon have been active players in the ongoing revitalization and economic development of South San Antonio and also helped to establish the Defense Sustainment Consortium (DSC).

The DSC, which helped to spawn the National Sustainment Technology Center in San Antonio, is designed to directly link the research and application of new and emerging technologies developed by local businesses with the Department of Defense.

Frontline was founded in 1992 and specializes in providing information systems, program management and support and logistic services. It is privately held.
