Oracle DataBase Administrator
Job Responsibilities :
• Assist with the design and implementation of complex and fault tolerant database environments using Oracle 10g platforms.
• Plan, conduct, and direct projects or major phases of significant database related projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects.
• Document existing and new database related solutions as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Candidates MUST possess the following :
• Responsible for setup and administration of the database running on Solaris in both RAC and NON-RAC environments; installing databases and apply new patches, support production application and development team.
• Skills should Include Oracle 10G running in a RAC environment
• 2-5 years experience with Oracle Application Server (10g experience highly desired).
• Experience with components of IAS.
• Responsible for setup and administration of IAS including
include OID (Oracle Internet Directory), SSO (Single Sign On), and mod PL/SQL.
• Experience with database tuning, performance monitoring, analysis & tuning as well as providing consultation to the application development teams in areas such as efficient SQL coding and design.
• Experience with using performance tuning tools like AWR, ADDM etc. highly desirable.
• Experience managing and supporting different environment e.g. development, test and production.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Experience with PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS, Oracle tools and utilities like exp/imp, SQLLDR, Data Guard essential.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and QUEST diagnostic tools e.g. Foglight, Spotlight etc.
• Experience with SQL and PLSQL. Ability to write and tune stored procedure or other procedural code highly desirable.
• Experience with backup and recovery using RMAN and tape subsystems like Netbackup or Legato essential.
• Extensive knowledge in deploying and maintaining redundant Oracle solutions.
• Extensive experience in monitoring and performance tuning Oracle database technology.
• Knowledge in deploying fault-tolerant Oracle on SAN storage technologies.
• Knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Red Hat Linux.
• Ability to work alone, and act as the technical lead in the Oracle/Linux environments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A passion for excellence.
