San Antonio Business Journal - November 28, 2006
NoWaitMedia LLC has won a video-content delivery contract with the Air Force News Services (AFNEWS).
AFNEWS, which is headquartered in San Antonio, has more than 481 Air Force and Army military civilian offices assigned to 28 locations worldwide.
They communicate news, information and entertainment through print and electronic media and keep the soldiers, families and the American public informed during peace and war.
Under the contract, NoWaitMedia will convert AFNEWS' DVD-formatted training content into on-line interactive training applications using Content Delivery System (CDS) technology developed by BroadRamp Inc. in San Antonio.
The conversion technology takes large media files and condenses them into easily accessed, high-quality media packages without the use of a media player on any computer with a basic broadband connection.
Air Force media personnel around the globe will have access to the training with the minimum requirements of a personal computer or a laptop, a broadband Internet connection and a browser since no third-party media players are required with the CDS technology.
"We expect this to be a large business area for us," says Bob Sanchez, chief operating officer of NoWaitMedia. "Whether it be training programs, conferences or events, we have the technology solution to put them online."
Sanchez declined to provide further details, including the financial terms, of the contract.
NoWaitMedia LLC is a joint venture between San Antonio-based Frontline Systems Inc. and BroadRamp Inc. It is a government contractor.
